Bats
delay development
There will be some delay in determining the
planning applications for the Wharf
Street Nursing Home and supported properties.
According to the
Bebington News, there have been sightings of bats on the site. If there
is a significant presence, then English Nature would have to be consulted
and a licence would be required from DEFRA before any work is undertaken.
The Liberal Democrats team have been lobbying local residents on the
proposals and over 300 local residents have signed a petition illustrating
a strong feeling against the development. The team has also formally
requested an investigation
into the presence of bats after the Development brief was found to mention
the existence of bats in Wharf Street.
