Public Inquiry to be held in Wallasey Town Hall

June 20th 2005
By Editor, PSVO

The Appeals by Miller Homes and Port Sunlight Village Trust relating to their applications for planning permission to develop the sites at Wharf Street and Wood Street, Port Sunlight (which were refused by Wirral's Planning Authority) will be heard by the Planning Inspectorate at Wallasey Town Hall on Tuesday 21st June 2005 to Friday 25th June 2005 and Tuesday 28th June 2005 starting at 10am.

The Residents and Conservation Society of Port Sunlight established in 2004 strongly opposes the Appeals and will make representations to the Inquiry. The Society urges attendance at these meetings of Village residents and interested visitors to indicate the strength of feeling against these developments.

Transport is being arranged from the Village to Wallasey Town Hall. For more information contact Steve on 0151 334 4486

Ben Chapman (MP) echoed the general consensus of opinion at a Parliamentary debate on March 8th 2005. He will chair an English Heritage Conference on the future of the Village, later this year.
