War Memorial - Sir W Goscombe John 1916- 21

A fitting centrepiece to the village, the bronze sculptures adorn a granite structure in a thematic tribute. Around the cross, soldiers guard women and children, a woman cradles infants and a young boy shields his sister - representing 'defence of the home'. Around the outside are panels in high-relief acknowledging the roles of the Anti-Aircraft, Naval, Military and Red Cross services.
