Corniche Road - Edwin Lutyens, 1897-99 Although unremarkable by Lutyen's standards (he was only 21 at the time), the asymmetrical tile-hanging, venetian windows and audacious chimney-work achieve an impressive overall result. Lever employed a main body of architects (Owen, Lomax-Simpson, Grayson & Ould) and employed other architects such as Lutyens, Adams and Newton to design a small number of blocks. |
